Carbon Reduction Commitment

Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Consultancy

The Facts

The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) is now law.

Organisations in the business and public sectors now have a responsibility to monitor and report on their CO₂ output and buy allowances based upon their annual tonnage output.

The initial phase effects organisations with half hourly electricity consumption over 6,000 MWh per annum (roughly £500,000pa) as well as all public sectors.

The second phase begins in 2013 for organisations with consumptions of 3,000MWh per annum with this year as their carbon footprint year.

Incentive Driven Measures

Organisations will be placed into annual league tables showing the public the best and worst performers in their group.

The best will get some allowance refunds, the worst will be penalised further. Those who fail to participate where necessary will be heavily fined, named and shamed and may be subject to criminal liabilities.

How can we help?

We are committed to helping you prepare for the future and have developed a programme designed to de-mystify CRC. We advise on initial energy audits for registration through to full project management.

Our commitment is to improve and measure your energy efficiency and reduce the carbon liabilities of your organisation. This means you won’t become liable for fines or damage to your company profile.
